Tom & Amanda’s Village Fete Wedding Celebration in Hurley

Wow. This year really is whizzing by! I can’t believe it’s almost two months since I shot Tom & Amanda’s gorgeous Village Fete inspired wedding. This was my second trip to Hurley, near Maidenhead where Tom’s parents live and where we did their Engagement Shoot. I have since been back to Hurley once more for Katy & Andrew’s lovely wedding at The Malt House. Everytime I go back I love it more! Hurley is one of those lovely little villages where everyone knows everyone and neighbours are best friends! In fact, a very generous friend of Tom’s parents offered Tom & Amanda her gorgeous, award-winning back garden (Lee Farm House) for the wedding and what a back garden it was!! Amanda got ready at The Olde Bell – a very quaint little pub in Hurley and Tom got ready at his parent’s house and then moved on to another favourite nearby pub – The Dew Drop Inn for some Dutch courage with his ushers & father. Amanda looked stunning in her Alice Temperley wedding dress and Tom made a very dashing groom, wearing his grandfather’s petticoat! Every little detail in Tom & Amanda’s wedding was so beautifully and lovingly put together –  from the decoration of the marquees with colourful bunting and flowers in tea pots, hard-boiled sweets on the tables to coloring books & bubbles for the kids – a true summer’s dream wedding. I really loved the table names Tom & Amanda had come up with – the names of pubs where they had shared a pint (or two) together – like The Grenadier where they went on their first date or The Ship at Dunwich which is where they went after Tom proposed to Amanda on a clifftop in Dunwich! Guests were treated to afternoon tea which was followed by the speeches – during which Tom’s best man David, ‘blew’ the tune for the wedding march on water-filled beer bottles! VERY impressive and it had everyone roaring with laughter! Drinks in the garden followed and the relaxed evening reception kicked off with a hog roast buffet! All in all an enormously fun wedding and really lovely to see Tim & Amy again, whose London wedding I shot back in July.

Big thank you to my red-haired compadre – Yolande who second shot the wedding with me. Congratulations again Tom & Amanda, I’m glad you loved your photos as much as I do! Here are a few of my favourites from the day.
