I’m going to be an aunt for the first time!

While I was back in South Africa earlier this year (shooting a couple of wonderful weddings), I got the chance to hang out with both my brother & sister. This takes a bit of organisation as Lizelle, my older sister lives in Durban and my younger brother Derrik lives in Worcester in The Cape and of course I’m all the way over in the UK! It’s awesome spending time together just being silly & chatting about all the good times we’ve had together and I miss not being able to see each other more often. Our time together was even more special as Lizelle found out that she was pregnant right before I flew back to the UK, so I left super excited to be an aunt for the very first time! Little pea will also be my mum & dad’s first grandchild, so it’s huge for our family.

So far things are going really well with the pregnancy which is an awesome blessing and Lizelle looks beautiful – a glowing mummy-to-be!

I honestly can’t wait to meet little pea in December this year when Wayne and I fly back to South Africa for a couple of weeks. I’m pretty sure I’ll live up to my nickname “waterworks Marinovich”!

And just like all good first time aunts, I’m stocking up on as many cute little toys & other bits I can possibly fit in my suitcase! I’m a little bit sad that I can’t be there to do a maternity shoot for my Sis, but prepare yourself for loads of photos of my little niece / nephew when I get back from South Africa!
