Joanna & David’s London wedding day was filled with lots of love, laughter, happy tears and friends from all over the world. David is originally from Chile and together Joanna & David have traveled all over the world and finally settled in London (for now). David’s mum & brother had flown over from Chile and the day was an intimate celebration of close family ties & fantastic friendships. When I first met Joanna to chat about the wedding day, I was really excited to find out that it would include lots of bright colours (navy, yellow and orange) and fun geometric designs! I LOVE a bit of colour in my photography and I couldn’t wait to see how David & Joanna would brighten up the gorgeous Horniman Conservatory (essentially a blank canvas) at The Horniman Museum for their humanist ceremony.
From the colourful stationery designed by their talented friend & graphic designer Jon Appleyard, to Joanna’s beautiful bouquet by The Fresh Flower Company in East Dulwich, to the EPIC bespoke wedding cake by Ceri from Olofson Design, splashes of colour and bold geometric set the tone to celebrate Joanna & David’s vibrant personalities & incredible love for each other. What a pleasure to photograph!
Joanna & David, congratulations again, I wish you all the love and happiness in the world and I feel very fortunate to have been able to spend the day with you, your lovely families & friends.
A little note from Joanna & David: “Thank you so much for sending these over – we’re more than delighted – they’re amazing! I’ve no idea how you managed to capture so much of the day – from the little details of the decorations to all of our loved ones looking so relaxed and happy. And we love the shots of us as well – they feel really natural! Once again, thank you so much – the photos are just brilliant!”
Below are some of my favourites from the day. Enjoy!
That’s Ceri (above) gushing over the amazing wedding cake with Joanna! :-)
Absolutely loved Joanna’s 1960s style boat neck lace dress from Charlie Brear.
How amazing is Joanna & David’s colourful geometric wedding cake by Olofson Design??
The above photo show the sand ceremony – both Joanna & David’s familes brought sand to the wedding from their home countries which they mixed together, symbolizing the joining of their lives.
Such a wonderful concept!
