“Dear Anneli, just a note to say we absolutely love our photos and the slideshow. We can’t thank you enough – you captured our special day beautifully and it was such a pleasure getting to know you throughout the planning and on our day. We really can’t thank you enough. Much love, Alison & Jason”.
I first met Alison & Jason at their engagement shoot in Borough Market back in summer. We spent a fun afternoon together, taking photos and chatting about their wedding day plans. Jason & Alison first met at Jason’s restaurant when Alison came for dinner with some friends and after quite some time, Jason finally plucked up the courage to ask Alison out with a very impressive grand gesture – he sent flowers & a mobile phone (with his number programmed in) to Alison’s office… the rest as they say is history! ;-)
Fast forward to October 2015 and the big day arrived. Alison got ready at their apartment in the very charming little village of Mulberry Green, overlooking the high street and even the church in the distance! I joined her and the girls where the talented Kristina Gasperas was doing make up and the lovely Tanya King was doing hair. The atmosphere was relaxed but charged with excitement and I loved listening to the girls giggling & chatting about the day ahead, while I photographed the stationery behind the couch on the floor…oh the glamour of being a wedding photographer! ;-)
Alison’s bridal look certainly had a touch of old Hollywood style glamour to it. She wore a bespoke “Songbird” gown by Stewart Parvin from The Bespoke Wardrobe, which hugged her figure beautifully and that pair of blue Manolo Bahnik heels was the most gorgeous “something blue” I have ever photographed! Her bridesmaids, Catherine and Kathleen, looked stunning in Twobirds Bridesmaid dresses which complemented the navy blue, pale pink and white colour scheme perfectly. Alison’s attention to detail was out of this world and I loved capturing all the little elements which brought their wedding day to life.
The ceremony took place at their local church a short walk from their home and the reception was held at Fanhams Hall in Ware, a stunning Grade II listed Jacobean manor house. Fanhams Hall have beautiful landscaped gardens and a fantastic patio overlooking the gardens – great for guests to relax in. The wedding breakfast was held in the Great Hall and this is where the colour scheme really came into it’s own. Beautiful floral design by Halo Blossom and candle light set the tone for the luxurious meal and again, the level of detail was fantastic. Calligraphy menus & place names by Judy Broad Calligraphy and calligraphy watercolor table names by Priscilla Lee from Your Truly Calligraphy, looked stunning and each guest were treated to a handmade Ganache macaron at their place setting.
For Alison & Jason it was all about good food & great company in a relaxed setting and they really did go out of their way to make sure their guests had a great time! Three singing waiters surprised guests after the main meal and put on a fantastic performance. After macarons & coffee were served in the library and the epic wedding cake by Abigail Bloom had been cut, the dance floor was well and truly opened by Alison & Jason who surprised their guests with a very impressive choreographed first dance, which included all the groomsmen.
This wedding was such a treat to photograph and I had a great time working alongside Richard from White Dress Films.
Alison & Jason, thank you for inviting me to be part of your day. I loved every minute of it and I wish you all the love and happiness in the world!
