It’s always lovely to have the wonderful weddings I shoot, featured on wedding blogs & in wedding magazines. Amanda & Tom’s retro village fete wedding is featured in this month’s issue of Perfect Wedding Magazine (on sale today). Thanks to Sam and the team for selecting this wedding to grace 5 pages of the magazine and congrats again to Amanda & Tom on their fabulous wedding! You can read the full wedding blog post here.

Beth and Jon’s winter wedding took place last December at Somerford Hall - an elegant Georgian mansion set in over 200 acres of landscaped parkland in Stafford. Having stayed there the night before, Beth & Jon were very relaxed when I arrived and gave me a quick tour of the mansion. With the entire mansion at their disposal, this was the perfect venue for their wedding celebration with family & friends who had travelled from far and wide. With Christmas decorations up and photos of Beth & Jon and their families arranged all around the lounge, it really felt like the wedding took place in their own mansion! Their table themes incorporated their shared love of New York City and with Beth’s vintage dress & red birdcage fascinator from Fur Coat No Knickers and Jon’s navy suit & red tie, I could almost imagine them walking the streets of New York City, hand in hand, in the 1950s! With Beth’s Welsh roots, the evening was ended off on a very festive note with a Ceilidh (Gaelic folk music & dancing, in case you didn’t know) in the ballroom. I had a lot of fun photographing the Ceilidh but also wished I could join in (I’ve only been to one Ceilidh, and I loved it)!
Beth & Jon, thank you for sharing your wonderful wedding celebration & fun engagement shoot with me, I had an absolute blast!
** Blog readers: In case you’re wondering about the ‘Jon’ mask photos - his mates had these printed for his stag weekend and brought them to the wedding for guests to have fun with! Genius and really funny!**

So today is meant to be all about the one you love. Whether it’s heart shaped chocolates or pink fizz you desire, today is the day that your other half should spoil you rotten! I like to think that every day should be Valentine’s Day! You should be celebrating your love for each other every day (even though some days it takes a bit more work than others)! With hubby working away from home a lot, we try and make the most of the time we have together (when I’m not shooting weddings) - whether it’s going for a walk down by the river, making each other cups of coffee / redbush tea while we’re editing or lying in each other’s arms on the couch, watching Miranda!
Today’s little post is not really about Valentine’s day and love for the one, it’s more about loving your family and cherishing each wonderful season of life together. With all our family back in South Africa and some of Wayne’s family in Australia, we’ve learnt to make the most of technology – Skype etc to keep in touch with our families and heading back for holidays is fantastic, even though it’s always hard to come back to the UK – leaving our loved ones behind, but it’s nice to know that we all appreciate each other just as much (maybe even a little more), than when we saw each more often! So in the spirit of celebrating the meaning of LOVE today, I’d like to share Gillian, Tom and little Zach’s family shoot from October 2011 in Reigate. They are such a gorgeous family and it was really special to capture their love for each other on camera.
Whether you’re starting your journey as a couple, tying the knot, starting a family or just love your family, make sure you treasure the season you’re in and take lots of photos!
Here are a few of my favourite photos from my afternoon with Gillian, Tom & Zach, enjoy!
