Ali & Chris – A London couple shoot at sunset.

Ali & Chris are both Canadian, living in the UK and will be tying the knot in Vancouver next year. With Chris being away most of the time as a Royal Marine Commando up in Scotland, Ali had her heart set on a shoot around London to celebrate their engagement and we made the most of the cobbled streets in Covent Garden and then wandered down to the South Bank of the Thames to drink in the glorious sunset! I really enjoyed my afternoon with these two – high school sweethearts and soon to be Mr & Mrs Dutton, it was lovely to share in their journey as a couple.

Beauty Photography: 6 gorgeous make up looks to inspire you and your bridesmaids.

I recently worked with the very talented Ana Ospina on a beauty shoot for her make up showcase on b.loved (read the full blog post here). We had a lot of fun on the b.team shoot, where Ana created six different make up looks to complement the bridesmaids dresses from Maids to Measure (a must visit if you’re still looking for dresses for your bridesmaids). Along with gorgeous headpieces by Victoria Millesime, the different looks worked perfectly, focusing on the colour palettes Ana had chosen for the girls.

Matt & Sarah’s relaxed Engagement Shoot in Mountfitchet.

This weekend Matt & Sarah will be tying the knot at amazing barn wedding venue – Blake Hall in Ongar, Essex. I shot my first wedding there back in 2011 (read the full blog post here) and I’m super excited to be back there again this year. With everything Matt & Sarah have planned for the day, I’m sure it’s going to be an amazing celebration!

I met up with them in the lovely little town of Mountfitchet for their engagement shoot and was pleasantly surprised to discover that this little town has its own windmill! After checking out the windmill, went for a Sunday afternoon stroll, climbed some trees and of course took some photos as well. :-)

Quinta de Sant’Ana – wine estate wedding venue in Mafra, Portugal.

Back in March I flew over to Portugal (Lisbon) to do a styled bridal shoot with the enormously talented Sofia & Andre from Branco Prata. The venue we chose for the shoot couldn’t have been more perfect! Quinta de Sant’Ana overlooks the lovely village of Gradil in Mafra and it has now become one of my dreams to shoot a wedding at this beautiful destination wedding venue. Not only is the Quinta extremely picturesque, but owners Ann & James Frost are wonderful hosts and makers of a vast variety of delicious, top quality wines.

As I would usually do for weddings, I took a fair few “scene setting” photos of Quinta de Sant’Ana which really complement the bridal shoot we did & the colours incorporated into the styling (watch this space for the full shoot in a few month’s time).

If you plan to have your wedding reception at Quinta de Sant’Ana, you will definitely be spoilt for choice in terms of couple portrait locations (from the rolling hills of the vineyard to the old fashioned streets of the village below) and don’t even get me started on the light…the gorgeous light! From chatting to Ann (who has over 15 years of experience in tailor-made weddings) I love the fact that couples can really make the venue their own and if you are a destination wedding bride & groom, that’s exactly what you want – to create your dream wedding in your dream destination.
