1. Where are you based and do you travel for weddings outside the UK?
I’m based in Horsham, West Sussex but I travel all over the UK and the rest of the world for weddings. I love shooting weddings in the UK, but I also have insatiable wanderlust and would like to shoot more destination weddings, so definitely get in touch if you’re getting married outside the UK!
2. What kind of photography equipment do you use?
I’m a Canon girl! I shoot with two Canon 5D Mark III bodies and a selection of prime & zoom lenses. I always have back up equipment with me as well in case of emergencies.
3. Do you use flash photography?
I mainly use natural, ambient light to create the light & bright imagery I love. In situations where there is only a little / no natural light available, I will use a small amount of flash photography.
4. How much time should we set aside for couple portraits on the wedding day?
Your couple portrait session is the only “alone” time you’ll have away from your guests on the day, so make the most of it! I recommend allocating a minimum of 30 – 45 min to your couple photos, so you can relax and enjoy being “Just Married” before getting back to the party! I split the couple portrait session into two slots, so you’re not away from your guests for too long. The first session will take place at some point during the cocktail reception and then the second session will happen during the “golden hour” right before sunset, when the light is just perfect!
5. Will you take formal family / group photos on the day?
Yes, I’m happy to take some formal group photos, but recommend that these are limited to around 5 photos. This way I have more time to take relaxed, candid images of you and your guests having a great time.
