Yesterday I shared my favourite Engagement /Couple Shoot photos taken during 2011. Today, I’d like to share my last wedding blog post for 2011 – a delicious summary of my top, favourite photos I took at weddings during 2011. Before I do, I’d like to thank all the couples who shared their wonderful wedding days with me. 2011 has been a year filled to the brim with celebrations of love and life. I’d also like to thank everyone who commented on the blog and encouraged me to keep doing what I love. I can honestly say that being a creative wedding photographer does not feel like a job (having left my office job this year to go full time, I know what I’m talking about)! I’ve had a blast photographing weddings most weekends this year – yes wedding photography is hard work, but it’s 100% worth it. Seeing the story of the day come to life while editing and hearing how happy my couples have been with their photos (http://www.annelimarinovich.com/happy-clients/), has been very rewarding and encouraging!
A big thank you to my friends in the wedding industry who have made this journey such a pleasure. I have met and made friends for life – kindred spirits I feel I can really turn to and lean on and for that, I am truly grateful. To my family and my husband, thank you for believing in me and giving me the strength and encouragement I needed to turn my dream of being a full time professional wedding photographer into a reality this year! It has definitely been a year filled with exciting and encouraging achievements. Thanks to my wonderfully creative couples and their gorgeous weddings, I’ve been featured on a variety of wedding blogs such as Rock My Wedding, Rock ‘n Roll Bride, Love My Dress, The Pretty Blog (South Africa), Hochzeitswahn (Germany), On to Baby (USA), Bijoux Bride and many others and I’ve also had my first weddings & a bridal shoot image published in national wedding magazines: Perfect Wedding Magazine, You & Your Wedding and Wedding Ideas Magazine – fantastic resources for brides and an absolute honor to have been featured in. I have also had the opportunity this year to partner with The South African Newspaper to reach out to South African (and other) couples living in the UK, getting married in South Africa and I’m very happy to be shooting a few weddings in South Africa in 2012!
This year has also been a fantastic year in terms of concept bridal shoots. At the start of 2011 I set out to collaborate with other wedding suppliers to do a few creative shoots during the year and I’m happy to say that despite a very busy 2011, I managed to shoot 3 bridal shoots which included a Forest “Balloons & Cupcakes” bridal shoot in Surrey, a 1950’s inspired Camden “Rock ‘n Roll” bridal shoot and a very glamorous 1920’s inspired bridal shoot at Brooklands Hotel in Weybridge. I really enjoyed working with other wedding suppliers and look forward to more collaborations in 2012!
2011 has also been a year of personal journeys and wonderful adventures – my sister and I flew to New York for her 30th birthday in June and I lost my heart in the big Apple! Travel photography being very near to my heart I loved being able to explore the city through my lense! I also celebrated my 2 year wedding anniversary with my wonderful husband and extremely talented wildlife photographer – Wayne Marinovich at the start of December. My best friend and my great love…I still have butterflies in my tummy everyday! Christmas was also very special this year with my beautiful mom over from South Africa for 2 weeks. In all honesty this year has been nothing short of being an incredible blessing and I look forward to more of the same and them some, during 2012!
I kick off 2012 with my first wedding on the 2nd of Jan and then I head off to South Africa mid February to shoot weddings in Cape Town, Gauteng and The Free State – bring on the African sun, lots of lens flare, creative wedding photography and my gorgeous couples! If you’re getting married during Feb/March in South Africa, get in touch. I’m also doing a very exciting giveaway in partnership with a fabulous UK wedding blog in January, which will include a shoot in Europe, so watch this space!
To end off my post (before I share my favourite wedding photos from 2011), here’s a little quote from Kobi Yamada and my motto for 2012:
She turned her can’ts into cans and her dreams into plans.
