Sarah & Nick’s seaside wedding at The Gallivant Hotel, Cambersands.

When Sarah & Nick contacted me all the way from Australia to ask if I would photograph their wedding at The Gallivant in Cambersands, I immediately said YES. From chatting with them on Skype (and doing their Engagement Shoot) I knew that the day would be filled with lots of their laughter and fun and it definitely was.

Drawing inspiration from Pinterest and other websites which encourage couples to let their wedding “reflect their personalities”, Sarah & Nick planned and created their perfect wedding day.

The Gallivant Hotel & Bistro is the perfect setting for a relaxed, seaside wedding day, where wedding guests are invited to slip on a pair of flip flops to enjoy some canapes on the beach. Sarah & Nick wanted their wedding to be beachy, relaxed and laid back without being an actual beach wedding so The Gallivant was the perfect choice, plus the fact that the venue source all their food locally, played a role, as this very international couple felt that they had burnt enough air miles already! With a gorgeous colour scheme of yellows & greys (which represented golden Aussie beaches and British weather!) and an accent of electric blue, Sarah & Nick really made The Gallivant their own – I especially loved the colourful lanterns, abundance of flowers and starfish in the marquees.

Even though they now live in Australia, they are both originally from the UK with a large contingent of friends and family still in the UK, so they wanted to celebrate the best of both worlds as well as the international flavour of their relationship. This was such a wonderful day to be a part of and I loved every bit – especially the mega mix first dance, so much fun to photograph!

Sarah & Nick, I hope you’re settling into married life down under! I wish you plenty more adventures and sandy beach strolls to last you a lifetime!
