“The photos are perfect – I can’t stop flicking through. We really appreciate all your efforts on the day, you captured it fantastically well!”
It was a gloriously sunny and unseasonably warm day in October. The venue for Rachel & Alex’s Autumn wedding was Dulwich College – a beautiful setting for an elegant, yet relaxed London wedding. The day was not only marked by being the hottest Halloween on record, but it was a wonderful celebration of the love between two people, clearly made for each other.
I spent the morning with the girls, having their hair & make up done over champagne. I always enjoy the buzz on the morning of the wedding – something I remember very fondly from my own wedding day. Rachel wore Eden by Claire Pettibone from Blackburn Bridal and looked like a Grecian goddess, complete with an Aster floral hair vine comb by Debbie Carlisle.
Back at Dulwich College guests were starting to arrive, making the most of the sunshine outside The Old Library, where Alex and his groomsmen were waiting after securing some Dutch courage at a local pub.
The ceremony was lovely, and the moments I captured between Rachel & Alex are some of my favourites. After an epic confetti exit, the happy couple jumped in their Rolls Royce silver wraith and made an entrance through the spectacular gates of the Barry Buildings – the backdrop for their drinks reception.
Lily’s Flowers had transformed the grand staircase leading to the Great Hall into a wonderful celebration of Autumn, with the large pumpkins and gorgeous floral design. I loved the baby pumpkin place names on the tables, which Rachel & Alex had collected in the lead up to the wedding. Such a nice touch.
The rest of the afternoon culminated in a gorgeous sunset which we made the most of and after the speeches, guests were treated to the sounds of Beta Band in the Lower Hall. A great party to end off a fantastic day.
I loved shooting this wedding and it was great working with the lovely events team at Dulwich College.
Here are some of my favourites.
Loved the lace detail on Rachel’s Claire Pettibone “Eden” wedding gown from Blackburn Bridal.
The Aster floral hair vine comb by Debbie Carlisle is breath-taking and it was the perfect match for Rachel’s dress.
The lovely Amanda Roberts putting the finishing touches to Rachel’s bridal look.
Rachel’s dad, in tears when he sees her in her wedding dress for the first time. Moments like these are
why I love my job!
Glorious sunshine for Rachel & Alex’s big day. How gorgeous does Rachel look?
One of my all time favourite wedding ceremony images. I love how every single person in this image are beaming with
happiness for Rachel & Alex!
What a view. The Barry Buildings at Dulwich College, bathed in gorgeous golden light, welcoming guests
for the drinks reception.
The sweeping staircase leading to the Great Hall, decorated to perfection by Lily’s Flowers.
What is a wedding without a fun wedding party photo?!
How amazing is this cheese stack wedding cake by The Fine Cheese Company!
The Great Hall at sunset. One of the most beautifully lit wedding reception spaces I’ve ever photographed.
I love this perspective. Rachel’s dress sweeping up the stairs…just gorgeous.
And yes, Rachel’s granddad got down on the dance floor with her mum. What a legend.
